Following complaints from residents near the Locks Heath District Centre we carried out an operation in conjunction with the Roads Policing

Department. As a result four drivers were placed on a driver referral programme one was issued a non endorsable ticket and one with an endorsable ticket for excess speed. The problem in and around this area is the high speed of the cars and their desire to let the whole of Park Gate know they are there by wheel spinning, hand brake turns and excessive speed. Further ops are planned in the build up to Christmas and I'll update you as and when they have been completed.
 
The below is a warning from Trading standards for you to be aware of.
Warning - Rogue Traders are again cold calling and leaflet dropping offering to carryout work on properties in the Portchester, Fareham and surrounding areas of Hampshire. It is alleged that these traders are operating under the name of Hambrooks Drives and Patios*.
If anyone has any information about these traders, has already had work carried out by them, already agreed for them to commence work on their property or if you require any advice on doorstep crime they can contact Hampshire County Council's Quick Response Team on 01962 833666, where specially trained officers are on hand to provide urgent assistance.
Residents are advised to say “No” to all doorstep cold callers and if they require any work carried out on their property to consider using a trader that has been recommended to them or the Hampshire County Council Buy With Confidence approved trader scheme, details of which can be found online at www.buywithconfidence.gov.uk or by calling Consumer Direct on 08454 040506.
*NB Hambrooks should NOT be confused with Hambrooks Landscaping who are a genuine member of Hampshire Trading Standards Service Buy with Confidence Approved Trader Scheme.
